
Stephan Mändl

Stephan Mändl (born 1966 in Nürnberg/Germany) studied physics
at the University of Erlangen where he obtained his degree (Dipl.-Phys.)
in 1993. After joining the research center Rossendorf, Institute for Ion
Beam Physics and Materials Research, he obtained his Ph.D. degree at the
university of Dresden 1997. He continued his work on plasma immersion ion
implantation (PIII) as a post-doc in Augsburg. Since 2001, he is group
leader for PIII at the Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification in Leipzig.
Current research activities focus on fundamental investigations for PIII
and metal PIII as well as biomedical applications.
