Vladimir Yurievich Anan'in was born in Sevastopol, Ukraine, on 1 June 1985.  In 2008, he obtained his M.Sc. at the physics department of St. Petersburg State University, Russia.  His diploma work concerned theoretical investigations of vacuum arc jets. Now, in 2008, his field of research includes the interrupting capabilities of vacuum interrupters and vacuum arc modelling for practical cases.
